BARKtoberfest, a BACB Unleashed signature event

Who doesn’t want [doggy] beer and brauts? Yes, for the dogs and there is plenty to go around at this celebration. BARKtoberfest is a doggy event with a German-twist.  With fun events including the Doggy Beer Tasting (Cock-a-Doodle Brew & Beefy Brown Ale), special foods for the dogs (Hasen Duckenpfeffer & Brats-N-Tots), the Long Dog Dash and All DOG Dash (see deTAILS below) your dog is sure to have a tail wagging-good time.

There will also be the Parade of Tails to show off the best dressed pooches-German-style (so dress ‘em up before you take ‘em out!) that will end with the anointing of the TOP DAWG.

And not to leave out the humans, Northwest Liquor will highlight some fun beers for the two-legged friends to try.

This is a BACB Unleashed signature event. Humans and their well-mannered dogs who are current on their vaccinations are most welcomed.

LONG DOG DASH & ALL DOG DASH 

Get ready to have your heart melt from the sheer cuteness of it all!

Racers All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations. All racers must be socialized and leashed. Each racer must have 2 people to race. Each dog will be provided a colored bandana prior to their race. Please take the bandana off your dog before you exit the racetrack. Event personnel will be available to assist you.

LONG DOG DASH racers need to be short-legged & long bodied to compete (Dachshund, Corgi, Basset Hound, mixed breed with short legs and long body).

ALL DOG DASH  Event personnel will determine which dogs will compete in each heat.

Racetrack is approximately 45 feet long. It is on grass and completely fenced to provide some control to where the dogs run, but it is not escape proof. You are responsible for your dog. We will ask spectators to assist if possible. Please do not exit the racetrack until all dogs are under control.

Releasers must be able to handle their dog. The Releaser will hold the dog with their dog’s feet on the ground behind the start line and then let the dog go, to run to the Receiver. (Pushing or tossing of dogs onto the track is not permitted). The Receiver can use toys or treats to entice the dog, but no whistles. The Receiver must stand behind the end zone. Any racer that is touched or picked up before the finish line will be excused from the competition. 

Remember, this is an event to have fun and laugh at our canine friends. We value good sportsmanship and believe in spirited, cheerful competitiveness. Ready, Set, Go!
